Karen Köhler wanted to become a cosmonaut, so she learned skydiving to decide then to study acting instead. Afer some years working as an actress on steady contracts she's writing theatre plays and prose today and lives on St.Pauli in Hamburg. For her play "Ramayana, Ein Heldenversuch" (Ramayana, a hero's attempt) she received the Otfried-Preußler-TYA-Play-Award in 2013, that had ist World Premiere the same year at Badische Landesbühne. In request of German National Theatre Weimar she developed since 2013 the "Helden"-Trilogie (Heroes-trilogy). The first part "Deine Helden- Meine Träume" (Your Heroes-My Dreams) has been produced on numerous stages all over Germany. 2014 she received the project-scholarship oft he TYA-Award Baden Württemberg working together with Badische Landesbühne Bruchsal. Karen Köhler's first volume of prose "Wir haben Raketen geangelt" (We've been fishing rockets) had been published at renowned Hanser publishing house in fall of 2014 and became a sensational success.
